The revenues of Moldova Railways enterprise have tripled, historical debts have been significantly reduced, and overdue salaries have been halved. These figures were presented today by Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

"Regarding the Railways - we have progress that shows that when you work honestly, persistently, and have the courage to make difficult decisions, things change for the better. The decisions made by the Government, the correct investments in infrastructure, and access to the European market have led to an increase in monthly revenues - over 60 million lei," said Dorin Recean.

The official mentioned that the company's restructuring effort led to a threefold increase in revenues and recovery of the salary payment period, with five overdue salaries paid during the summer.

"Current salaries are paid on time. Overdue salaries have been reduced by half, from seven to eight months, to four months, and we already have a very concrete plan to settle all the company's debts," he said.

According to the official, at present, CFM employees manage a transport flow three times larger than 1-2 years ago, and 80% of Moldova's grain is transported by rail, compared to 20% previously.

The government has previously allocated over 150 million lei to CFM for repairs, debt settlement, and provided 1000 tons of diesel from the State Reserve.

Moldova Railways is a strategic enterprise of the national economy, providing freight and passenger transport services.
