Moldovan president has meeting with Diaspora citizens involved in community life
President Maia Sandu on 13 September participated in a meeting with Diaspora Moldovans involved in their community's lives. The head of state emphasized the importance of citizens’ unity and involvement, regardless of their location, in the process of building a European future for Moldova.
“Families do not always live under the same roof, but they remain families — just like us, Moldovans. Wherever our paths take us, we remain united through our connection to Moldova and the wish to see it peaceful, free and prosperous,” Maia Sandu said.
The Moldovan president highlighted that, in the current context, Moldovans everywhere must show awareness, integrity and courage, highlighting the role of each citizen in crucial decisions for the country's future.
“The choices we make now will determine if we succeed in building a strong, united and respected country in the world — a Moldova that, in the near future, will be part of the European Union,” the head of state stressed.
The discussion took place in the context of the Active Moldovans in the Diaspora Summit in Potsdam, Germany, which hosted Diaspora representatives from more countries, as well as civil society from Moldova.
