Over 20 million lei seized by Anti-Corruption Officers in illegal party financing case

The National Anti-Corruption Center (CNA) along with Chișinău Prosecutor's Office conducted several searches in the capital today as part of a large-scale criminal case regarding the illegal financing of political parties. Following the raids, over 20 million lei were seized.

According to CNA data, the investigation targets a group of individuals suspected of coordinating a criminal plan prior to the parliamentary elections on September 28. Among those involved are decision-makers, members, and sympathizers of certain political parties, involved in the illegal channeling of significant amounts of money to political formations.

Following the searches, over 20 million lei in various currencies, electronic storage devices, draft documents, and other evidence supporting the reasonable suspicion of illegal financing were seized.

The actions are ongoing, and authorities will provide further details.
