Exports of Moldovan agricultural products to European Union increase almost sixfold in last four years
Exports of Moldovan agricultural products to the European Union have increased almost sixfold in the last four years. The government’s spokesperson, Daniel Voda, has unveiled data to this effect today.
Grapes are among the exported products that have registered the highest growth. "Grape exports are at the top of the growth list, from 12.6 million dollars to 45.14 million dollars in just three years. An increase that shows that Moldovan farmers grow quality grapes appreciated in the European area," said Daniel Voda.
At the same time, the spokesperson for the government emphasized that, in recent years, the value of exports of goods from Moldova had increased by almost 50 per cent.
"In the last four years, as recently pointed out by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, the value of exports of goods Moldova has increased by almost 50 per cent, the value of exported services has doubled and the direction towards EU accession has provided a clear chance and predictability for national economic growth and development, including through the creation of new jobs in the national economy," concluded Daniel Voda.
The European Union is Moldova's largest trading partner and the largest export market for Moldovan products.
In July 2025, the European Union said that it would expand access for Moldovan products to the EU market. Thus, according to the EU decision, access for plums, apples, table grapes and sweet cherries will be increased, with extended tariff quotas. At the same time, the imports of grape juice, tomatoes and garlic are being fully liberalized.
