Social benefits for Moldovans working in Italy
Social agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Italian Republic is already on the table of the Italian Chamber of Deputies and is set to be voted on in one of the upcoming sessions. Details were provided by Speaker Igor Grosu, who discussed today in Budapest with President of the Chamber of Deputies Lorenzo Fontana.
Grosu highlighted that the Agreement represents a significant step forward, which not only strengthens the sincere friendship between our countries but also recognizes the enormous contribution of our diaspora.
“During the discussions, we conveyed our gratitude on behalf of the hundreds of thousands of Moldovans working in Italy. It is a significant step forward, which not only strengthens the sincere friendship between our countries but also recognizes the enormous contribution of our diaspora,” he said.
The official pointed out that the Agreement will provide Moldovans in Italy access to essential social protection: retirement pensions; disability pensions; pensions and allowances for work-related accidents or occupational diseases; survivor pensions.
“Our community deserves this recognition. With true friends, Moldova can build strong partnerships for the benefit of its people, wherever they may be,” Grosu said.
The meeting between the two officials took place in Budapest, where Grosu is participating in the EU Speakers Conference.
