Supply of food, essential goods to settlements from eastern Moldova district under authorities’ scrutiny
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri has paid a working visit today to the Cocieri plateau, the purpose of the trip being to document on the ground the situation of the settlements placed on the left bank of the Dniester River. During the visit, the deputy PM had meetings with the mayors of Molovata Noua and Cocieri localities.
The discussions were focused on ensuring the supply of localities with food products and essential goods. In the context, Chisinau notified Tiraspol to ensure the unhindered crossing over the Dubasari bridge for the economic agents involved in supplying the settlements. According to the mayors, at present, the situation is under control and public institutions and residents are properly supplied with the necessary goods.
At the same time, attention was drawn to the need to rehabilitate social infrastructure and to implement projects through the Country Reintegration Activities Programme for 2026. In this respect, the deputy prime minister visited the library in Molovata Noua, destroyed following a fire, as well as the Garofița kindergarten in Cocieri.
Valeriu Chiveri also discussed with the technical staff operating the Molovata ferry about the difficulties encountered and possible solutions to overcome them, as well as about the operation of the hovercraft.
Following the findings made on site, it was established that, at the current moment, the vessel is non-operational.
