Last week, Speaker Igor Grosu paid a working visit to Criuleni district. The official met with representatives of local public authorities, visited implemented infrastructure projects and met with entrepreneurs who contribute to the development of local communities.
As usual, the working visit began with a meeting with mayors from the region, with discussions focused on implemented projects and on the opportunities created by the local public administration reform. Under the second edition of the European Village program, projects worth over 100 million lei are being implemented, while in the first edition investments totaled 70 million lei. The funds were directed to the construction and modernization of sports grounds, schools and kindergartens, as well as for street lighting, water supply systems and sewerage. Medical institutions were also modernized. "We have a new mandate from the citizens and we must carry out good, bold reforms, always keeping in sight the final goal – European integration," Grosu said.
The working visit continued with a trip to the regional road G72, which connects the localities of Brănești and Criuleni and was recently repaired. "The network of repaired roads is expanding, kilometer by kilometer. It is indeed a long process, and there are still many localities in the country that have been waiting for years for their roads to be repaired. We will reach them all. By 2029 we must have all roads in the country in good or very good condition," noted Igor Grosu.
The official also visited Boris Dînga Lyceum in Criuleni, which is part of the network of model schools. The educational institution has science laboratories equipped with modern study equipment, interactive whiteboards and new furniture. Modern classrooms for mathematics and robotics have been arranged, and the medical and psychological offices have been renovated. "We have invested and continue to invest in education until we can provide modern study conditions to all students in the country," he remarked.
Another locality on the visit agenda was the village of Mășcăuți, where, through the European Village II Program, several sports grounds have been built.
In Criuleni district, the first factory for processing animal by-products, in line with international standards is under construction. The Speaker visited the construction site. At this plant, animal waste will be transformed, in a closed and controlled system, without toxic emissions, into useful products – ingredients for animal feed or industrial fuels. Thus, a source of pollution will be eliminated and European standards on the processing of animal by-products will be observed. "A functional network for processing animal by-products will also open the way for exports to the EU for products of animal origin," stated Igor Grosu.
The last objective of the visit was the business of Vasilache family from Mășcăuți. Ion and Inga run a rural tourism business, a guesthouse equipped with a swimming pool, hot tub and sauna. The construction of the guesthouse used authentic materials – local stone, reed and wood. Vasilache family benefited from support from the Government and the European Union, provided through the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development. "I am glad that we have such beautiful examples of local entrepreneurship, which inspire other business people as well," he concluded.
