Baltic States’ speakers to pay official visit to Moldova
Speakers of Baltic States will pay an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on 2–4 February 2026. President of the Riigikogu of the Republic of Estonia Lauri Hussar, Speaker of the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia Daiga Mieriņa and Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Juozas Olekas will be in our country at the invitation of Speaker of the Republic of Moldova Igor Grosu.
On 2 February, the three officials will be welcomed at the Parliament by Grosu. After the meeting, a joint press conference will be held by the speakers of Moldova, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The press statements are scheduled for 17:15.
On 3 February, starting at 10:30, the speakers of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will deliver speeches during a solemn meeting of the Parliament, which will inaugurate the spring session. The agenda also includes meetings with the leaders of the parliamentary factions.
The official visit's agenda also includes meetings with President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri.
In addition, the officials of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will visit Călărași together with the speaker of the Republic of Moldova. The officials will meet with representatives of local public authorities, the business community and citizens. They will also visit Călărași Business Incubator, a project supported by the European Union.
The official visit is part of efforts to strengthen the parliamentary dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the Baltic States, as well as to reaffirm support for our country’s European path.
