Consular services to be upgraded, digitized
Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/- On a working visit to Berlin, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita and Minister of Labor and Social Protection Marcel Spatari had a meeting with representatives of diaspora residing in Germany.
According to MAEIE press service, the Moldovan official noted that diaspora is one of the main goals on the agenda 4D (European development, dialogue, diaspora and economic diplomacy) of the diplomacy of concrete facts for 2022.
"We are planning to modernize and digitize consular services at the foreign ministry level, in order to increase quality and speed of the services for diaspora", Popescu said.
At the same time, he referred to the talks he has with his counterparts on implementation of concrete actions for the diaspora, including reducing roaming tariffs and recognition of documents.
In the context, the recent visit to Chisinau by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock was approached. There were discussed issues related to completion of formalities for the simplification of the conversion of driving licenses for our citizens.
Minister Ana Revenco signed a joint declaration of intent between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova and the Federal Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Federal Republic of Germany on the procedural aspects of transcribing driving licenses.
"We will continue our efforts to implement together with our partners concrete projects for the benefit of all citizens, both those established in the country and those in the diaspora," Popescu said.
