Cases of violence to be monitored uniformly at national level for early prevention and more effective intervention
Government has approved the national set of indicators in preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence. The measure will enable unified collection and analysis of data at the national level, so that the interventions of the authorities can be faster.
Until now, information in the sector was collected in a fragmented and inconsistent manner by different institutions, which made it difficult to correlate data and to properly assess the phenomenon. The new set of indicators will help standardize reporting and create a clearer picture of cases of violence against women and domestic violence.
The indicators will be used by the responsible institutions in the policing, prosecution, justice, social assistance, health, education and other relevant authorities. At the same time, the measure will strengthen the role of the National Agency for Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, as the coordinating authority, and will support the operation of the information system State Register VioData.
By approving the indicators, the authorities aim for more coherent monitoring of the phenomenon, early identification of risks, more effective institutional interventions, and better protection for victims. In addition, the new mechanism will contribute to improving reporting at both national and international level.
