The Government of the Republic of Moldova

The members of the Joint Control Commission met in Bender.

The delegation of the Republic of Moldova brought to the forefront the dangerous incidents of 30 and 31 March of this year, when Shahed-type attack drones flew over the perimeter of the Security Zone, creating major risks to people’s lives and to infrastructure. The representatives of Chișinău asked the Commission to carry out an objective assessment of these incidents, which are clearly destabilising and escalating the situation in the area of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces.

On the agenda of the discussions was the activity of the Press Centre, including unrestricted access for journalists from the right bank of the Dniester to the Security Zone and to the Commission’s meetings. This issue is of principled importance for the delegation of the Republic of Moldova, and its resolution would allow the Commission to return to its normal working regime.
