EcoVoucher // Tens of thousands of families in Moldova replaced old appliances with modern equipment
Over 26,800 families in the Republic of Moldova have so far received financial support through EcoVoucher program, implemented by the Government of the Republic of Moldova with the support of the European Union. Government's spokesperson Daniel Vodă made the statement.
EcoVoucher program aims to replace old, energy-consuming appliances with modern and energy-efficient equipment.
Vodă noted that thanks to the EcoVoucher program, more than 4,300 additional families in Moldova have recently received financial aid to replace the old, energy-consuming appliances with modern and energy-efficient devices.
“Each eligible household received a voucher worth 6,000 lei, covering up to 70% of the cost of a refrigerator or washing machine with reduced energy consumption. In return, beneficiaries recycled an old appliance of the same type, thus contributing to waste reduction and environmental protection. We continue to reach out to those who genuinely need support—large families and the elderly—and concretely contribute to reducing energy consumption in Moldovan households,” he said.
According to authorities, in the three sessions held in 2025, over 15,300 households benefited from support to transition to modern equipment, and since the program's launch, the total number of assisted families has exceeded 26,800.
EcoVoucher program is developed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova with financial support from the European Union.
