Government supports rehabilitation of Bîc river and contributes to reducing pressure on capital's budget
The import and delivery of goods and services intended for Bîc River Rehabilitation and Flood Protection in Chișinău project will be exempt from value-added tax and other related payments. The regulation establishing the application of fiscal and customs facilities has been approved by the government.
The implementation of the project will contribute to creating new economic opportunities and improving living conditions for about 100,000 people affected by floods and pollution. At the same time, the savings obtained thanks to the exemptions can be used for other social and infrastructure priorities, in the interest of the capital's residents.
The project includes works to improve rainwater management and the rehabilitation of the river channel over a distance of 7.6 kilometers. Additionally, the rehabilitation of sewer networks and the installation of water blocking systems are planned to manage flood risks and reduce damage caused by heavy rains.
