Moldova supplied with natural gas for cold season

The Republic of Moldova is supplied with natural gas for the upcoming cold season. Prime Minister Dorin Recean made the statement today. He announced that over 90 percent of the necessary volumes of natural gas for 2025-2026 have already been purchased.

'The Republic of Moldova is supplied with natural gas for the upcoming season. Over 90% of the volumes we are set to consume in the upcoming period, during the cold season, and until September 2026 have been purchased,' stated Recean.

The official assured that we will have a heating season and a period of at least one year for which the necessary volumes of natural gas have been purchased.

In this context, the official urged electoral candidates not to exploit this topic and not to spread panic among the citizens.

'I want to make an appeal to electoral competitors not to exploit this topic and not to spread panic among the citizens. We have gas, we will have a heating season, and also a period of at least one year in which we have purchased volumes of natural gas,' said Dorin Recean.

Energocom company announced on 16 September that for the period from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026, about 90.9% of the forecast volume of natural gas consumption with firm delivery has already been contracted, which is 7,448,218 MWh, equivalent to about 700 million m³. According to Energocom, the forecast average purchase price of natural gas for 2025-2026 is 38.5 euros/MWh or about 410 euros per thousand cubic meters.
