Higher Education in Moldova to be modernized
Higher education programs, university infrastructure and student housing conditions will be improved. Furthermore, more foreign students will be attracted to universities in the Republic of Moldova. To achieve this, teaching materials will be developed in accordance with international standards, and teaching staff will be trained in English and other foreign languages.
The provisions are included in the Higher Education Project, which will run until 31 December 2029. In this regard, the Government has approved two projects aimed at ratifying Amendment No. 3 to the Financing Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the International Development Association and the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Additionally, research infrastructure will be created in priority sectors, and grants will be offered to early-career PhD students and researchers, including those with refugee status, as well as for disseminating research results at international conferences.
Government continues to invest in the education. Recently, unprecedented amounts since independence have been allocated - 500 million lei for universities and colleges and 1.3 billion lei for developing the model school network. In the coming years, the network is expected to expand by up to 90 educational institutions.
