Deputy PM for reintegration has meeting with new Ambassador of Austria to Moldova

The Government of the Republic of Moldova

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri today met new Ambassador of Austria to Moldova Martina Hermann.

The discussions addressed current developments in the Transnistrian settlement process, the situation in the eastern districts of the country, as well as the efforts of the national authorities aimed at the peaceful, gradual and sustainable reintegration of the country, with respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova.

A separate topic of discussion was the alarming human rights situation in the Transnistrian region of Moldova. The Moldovan official also emphasized the importance of international partners’ support for the efforts of the national authorities in this area.

The deputy PM expressed gratitude for Austria’s constant support for Moldova, including in promoting the reintegration process and bringing the two banks of the Dniester closer together. At the end of the meeting, the Moldovan official wished Ambassador Martina Hermann success in carrying out her mandate in Moldova.
