Moldovan cabinet approves creation of mechanism as to regulation of fiscal monopoly
Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved a draft law on the creation of the regulatory framework, through which the government will be able to establish a fiscal monopoly. The latter could be enforced on the sectors where the state’s intervention is demanded, in order to correct the imperfections or enhance the control over a market of strategic or national interest, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Under the draft, the status of fiscal monopoly will be assigned only to the legal entities with majority or entirely state owned capital. At the same time, the need to establish fiscal monopoly will be ascertained by the National Commission for Fiscal Monopoly, made up of representatives of public authorities and civil society from the economic sector. The way of organization and work of the Commission, along with the power of providing the status of fiscal monopoly are given to the government.
The implementation of the draft’s provisions will help increase the state budget revenues, as well as for a more efficient monitoring of the activity of the enterprises with fiscal monopoly.
