
Moldovan cabinet to provide compensations worth over 1 million lei to victims of political repressions
Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/ - Eighteen people from five districts of Moldova, victims of political repressions, who lost their assets in the wake of their nationalization or confiscation, will get compensations for the recovery of the assets’ value, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
As much as 1.034 million lei will be earmarked for providing compensations. The sum will be distributed in five installments for all people for whom compensation was established starting from 2018 and ending with 2022.
The compensations were distributed based on decisions by local public administration for people from the districts of Ialoveni, Soroca, Rascani, Sangerei and Straseni.
Financial means amounting to 6.25 million lei were provided for in the 2022 state budget for the rehabilitation of political repressions’ victims.
