
Moldovan capital hosts inauguration of Association of Investors from Romania
Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and Prime Minister of Romania, Viorica Dancila, participated at the inauguration of the Romanian Investors Association (AIR) in Moldova today. This structure brings together companies with Romanian capital into Moldova and represents a platform for development and attraction of Romanian investments within national economy, the government's communication and protocol department has said.
At the event, Pavel Filip noted the advanced level of cooperation between Moldova and Romania on economic dimension and the importance of further capitalizing on existing potential. The Prime Minister said that launch of AIR would ensure a permanent dialogue with investors and help to solve problems of business environment promptly and efficiently.
In this context, Pavel Filip referred to efforts of Executive in Chisinau, aimed at developing an attractive business environment, highlighting the reform of permissive acts, reducing the number of control institutions, simplifying reporting procedures and launching labour law reform. "This year we are planning to develop these concepts, because we are aware that the development of social domains depends on the financial capacity of the state," said Prime Minister, Pavel Filip. The Moldovan Prime Minister urged AIR members to actively participate in the work of Economic Council, on which platforms are discussed and implemented important reforms for the development of business community.
At her part, Prime Minister, Viorica Dancila reiterated Romania's firm determination to strengthen its presence onto Moldovan market, stressing that the launch of AIR has sent a signal of confidence to investors from Romania and the EU to the business environment of Moldova. "I encourage you to make as many contacts between business representatives as possible to identify new opportunities to diversify the presence of Romanian investments," said Viorica Dancila.
The Association Investors Romania brings together 14 companies active in the Republic of Moldova in areas such as construction, trade, logistics, financial and banking sectors and pharmaceuticals. Total investments of AIR member companies in Moldova amount to around €76 million.
