Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/- At the meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) on 21 February, the Moldovan delegation has elucidated a number of violations of the regime in the Security Zone by the Transnistrian bodies, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

In this respect, there were presented materials proving the development of mass manifestations on 19 February in Bender and Gîsca, involving representatives of the Transnistrian military formations, equipped with weapons and special means.

It was noted that the report of the Joint Military Command for 13-19 February does not reflect the reported violations, mainly due to deliberate delay (within 2 hours) by the representative of Tiraspol of the agreement for moving of the military observers on the spot for fact-collecting.

As a result, our delegation did not accept the approval of the report for the reference period, and the military component of the peacekeeping forces was asked to examine the violations.

The multitude of cases of non-compliance with existing agreements and protocols has led to the resumption of our delegation's deliberations to set up an effective mechanism for monitoring the Security Zone and responding promptly to any deviation or incident that may aggravate the situation.

Attention was also drawn to the inadmissibility of compromising the military observers institution by blocking or delaying output agreement on the spot to find deviations or collect facts about the incidents.

In this respect, the Ukrainian representative proposed to indicate in the document the time at which the notification was made, the time at which each party agreed to allow the observers to move on the spot, when initiating movement on the spot.

In the context of the parliamentary elections and the consultative referendum due to be held on 24 February 2019, the Moldovan delegation reconfirmed its previous statement that public order during the election campaign and voting day will be provided by the forces of the territorial subdivisions of the General Police Inspectorate deployed in the Security Zone.

At the same meeting, the commission approved Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Turcan as a military observer from Moldova.
