Moldovan government's Crisis Cell: consumption of electric energy fully covered for 20 January, production of renewable energy reaches record values
The necessary volume of electric energy for the right bank of Dniester is fully covered for 20 January, without the need to activate failure contracts and/or unintentional flows, the government’s Crisis Cell has reported. A higher consumption by 16 per cent against 19 January is anticipated for the first day of this week.
On 20 January, the needed consumption of Moldova (right bank of Dniester) will be covered with the electricity generated by the heating stations from Chisinau and Balti, energy produced by renewable installations and imported energy. To cover the domestic needs, the Energocom stock company concluded several contracts on import of electricity, supplying in the peak hours with electric energy purchased from the Romanian exchange.
On 19 January, the overall consumption of electric energy on the territory of Moldova (right bank of Dniester) registered a decrease of about 8.9 per cent, up to 12,043,000 kWh. As much as 60.6 per cent of this consumption was covered by the national production and the electric energy generated from renewable sources reached a record share of 20.59 per cent.
The details on the sources of energy used are as follows:
Import of electric energy from Romania – 39.40 per cent;
-Termoelectrica stock company – 33.57 per cent;
-Renewable energy – 20.59 per cent;
-CET-Nord stock company – 5.11 per cent;
-Costesti hydro-electric power station state enterprise – 1.33 per cent
The peak of the consumption of electric energy was recorded between 17:00 and 20:00, reaching a maximal level of 791 MW, without exceeding the value of the consumption forecast. The consumers are urged to save electricity in the peak hours, during 7:00-11:00 and 18:00-23:00, in order to have lower invoices and to ensure the stability of the electric energy system.
In the thermal energy sector, on the right bank, all sources of generation are working and there are no risks. Also in the natural gas sector, the pressures in all segments of transport managed by the Vestmoldtransgaz Ltd Company are within the limits of the functional parameters.
In the Transnistrian region, scheduled disconnections from power supply lasting five hours during a day, once per day, have been taking place starting from 10 January. On the left bank of Dniester, the overall consumption of electric energy was of 3,944,000 kWh, 90 per cent of which is produced by the Kuchurgan power station; the rest of the volume of electricity is provided by the Dubasari hydro-electric power station and from technological flow.
