Prime Minister congratulates Nisporeni residents on City Day
Prime Minister Dorin Recean visited Nisporeni today, and congratulated the residents on City Day and participated in the signing of the Twinning Agreement with Iași, Romania.
“You have been at the forefront of the independence of the Republic of Moldova. I congratulate you for valuing authentic values and for being resilient. You are an example in terms of accession to the European Union, faithfully representing European values with pride,” said Recean.
The Prime Minister welcomed the openness of the local authorities from Nisporeni and Iași to carry out joint projects as part of the Twinning Agreement. Thus, the cities will exchange experiences and adopt best practices for the benefit of the residents of both cities.
“You are twinning with what represents the symbol of Romanian culture and spirit. This Agreement aims to consolidate what you achieved 24 years ago with the city of Lugoj, Romania. Through solidarity and a common vision, we can build a modern, European Moldova, united in values with Romania and the entire European community,” he emphasized.
The Prime Minister noted that communities will become even closer after the construction of the bridge connecting the localities of Grozești on both banks of the Prut River.
In recent years, several projects have been carried out in Nisporeni district to improve the living conditions of the people, mainly under the European Village Program. These include the construction and rehabilitation of water supply systems, public lighting, and the renovation of kindergartens and schools. In 2025, under the European Village 2 Program, projects worth nearly 70 million lei are set to be implemented in another 18 localities.

Additionally, the hospital was endowed with new equipment, and the emergency medical assistance service was modernized. In total, over 20 million lei have been invested in Nisporeni medical system.
