Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean on 27 August received on visit the three leaders of the Baltic states – President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, President of Estonia Alar Karis and President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs. The officials visited Moldova at an invitation by President Maia Sandu, in order to mark along with the Moldovans the 33rd anniversary of the Independence Day, the government’s communication department has reported.
PM Dorin Recean stressed that the presence of these leaders in Chisinau was a proof of the constant and solid support provided by the Baltic States to Moldova on its European integration path.
„On our way to a better life, we are not alone. We have true friends with us, who support us and show us, by their own example that the future is in our hands. Today, we celebrate not only the Independence Day, but also the strong partnerships which we have edified with our friends from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
The PM also said that the Baltic Countries, which this year mark the 20th anniversary of their membership in the European Union, represent a source of inspiration for Moldova as regards the European integration and the modernization of the country.
„Our goal is for us to make sure that the institutions are strong and transparent, that the law is observed, that there is no room for corruption in our society and that the rights of each citizens are protected.
