Inga Ionesii assumes office of Moldova's Ambassador to India
Inga Ionesii has officially assumed the mandate of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Moldova to India, after presenting her letters of credence to President of India Droupadi Murmu, during a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi today.
According to the Embassy of Moldova in India, during the meeting, Ambassador Inga Ionesii emphasized the importance of strengthening the Moldovan-Indian relations and capitalizing on cooperation opportunities in such areas as trade, investment, energy, education and healthcare.
The new ambassador also highlighted the need to continue the dialogue and projects discussed within the Moldova–India Business Forum held in Chisinau.
For her part, President of India Droupadi Murmu congratulated Inga Ionesii on her accreditation and expressed interest in deepening the cooperation between the two states. The Indian head of state thanked for the hospitality extended during her visit to Moldova and underlined the importance of continuing initiatives aimed at strengthening the bilateral relations.
The accreditation of the new ambassador comes shortly after the state visit of the President of India to Moldova, which took place on July 20-21, 2026. According to the Embassy of Moldova in India, the visit created new opportunities for expanding cooperation between the two countries.
On the coming period, the Embassy of Moldova in India plans to prioritize the development of the political dialogue, the consolidation of economic and trade cooperation and the promotion of concrete projects for the benefit of citizens and the business communities of both countries.
