Moldovan state protection, guard service marks 25 years of foundation

Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip attended on Friday gala ceremony of the 25th anniversary of the creation of the State Protection and Guard of the Republic of Moldova (SPPS), the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

During the event, Head of the Executive appreciated the activity of the SPPS officers, stressing that their specific skills allowed Moldova to successfully host a series of major events and receive visiting senior dignitaries.

"I note positively the service was developed in this period, and has adapted training according to security developments and become a modern and efficient, able to face challenges. The country’s security and citizen’s safety is our ultimate goal, we must not forget this ever," said Pavel Filip.

At the same time, the prime minister said that because of the work and responsibility manifested by employees of the State Protection and Guard Service, Moldova is regarded internationally as a safe country. "Contributing to peace that our society has so much need, you are a model of professionalism, dedication and patriotism. Thank you for the way you do your job," the head of Cabinet said.
