Moldovan president attends opening of Martisor International Music Festival

President Maia Sandu took part in the opening of the 60th edition of the Martisor  International Music Festival, held on March 1 at the Nicolae Sulac National Palace of Chișinău. During the event, the musical, Maria Mirabela, was premiered.

The jubilee edition, under the slogan, The Joy of Being Together, takes place on March 1–12 and includes 25 performances in the capital city. Launched in 1966 and organized by the Culture Ministry, the Martisor Festival has, for six decades, contributed to promoting local cultural and artistic values and to celebrating spring through music.

In addition, throughout March, more than 40 concerts are scheduled in various localities as part of the Martisor Across the Country programme.
