Performing COVID-19 tests in state laboratories to cost 300 MDL, instead of 755 MDL
Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/- The government today reduced the tariff for COVID-19 test in laboratories within public medical institutions. If previously an analysis of Qualitative Determination of SARS-CoV-2 virus cost 755 lei, it will be 300 lei, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The government has reduced the tariff for this medical service, as the purchase prices of the reagents needed to perform this analysis have decreased significantly.
Also, in the Catalog of single tariffs for medical services was included a new service, Qualitative detection of antigens specific to the new Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which will cost 35 lei. This price does not include the costs for the rapid diagnostic test.
"It is a very important project, especially in the period we are in. The detection of the virus is the key to moderating this wave we are facing and it is important that the diagnosis service is accessible and cheap ", said Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița.
It should be mentioned that these rates will be applied by the laboratories within the public medical institutions for the diagnosis of COVID-19 infection.
The project approved today will allow public health institutions to reduce, in the future, the tariffs of paid medical services if the actual costs for providing these services will be lower than those approved, based on the decision of the Commission for the evaluation of tariffs, established in within the unit.
The decision will enter into force after publication in the Official Journal.
