Moldovan Parliament to host 109th Rose-Roth Seminar of NATO Parliamentary Assembly
Chisinau, October 1, 2026 – The Parliament will host the 109th Rose-Roth Seminar, organized in cooperation with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. The event will take place on October 6–7 and will bring together parliamentarians, representatives of government authorities, experts, academics and members of the diplomatic staff. President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Marcos Perestrello will also attend the event and is scheduled to meet with Speaker Igor Grosu. Participants will examine the future of the Republic of Moldova in the Euro-Atlantic space, including lessons on strengthening resilience in a challenging strategic environment.
The seminar will include several discussion sessions. These will address regional security and the security of the Republic of Moldova in the context of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine, energy security from the Black Sea to the Persian Gulf, resilience, as well as the NATO Parliamentary Assembly–Republic of Moldova partnership in a changing Euro-Atlantic security environment. Another topic to be addressed by seminar participants will be the situation in the Black Sea region during wartime and its implication for regional and Euro-Atlantic security.
The seminar participants also intend to examine the development of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly–Republic of Moldova partnership, identify priorities for future cooperation, and discuss areas in which parliamentary engagement and international partnerships can contribute to strengthening the resilience of the Republic of Moldova and advancing its European integration agenda. At the same time, they will assess how Russia’s war against Ukraine has deepened security interdependence at the regional level and analyze the role of the Republic of Moldova both as a frontline state and as a contributor to regional stability.
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly is an interparliamentary organization bringing together 281 parliamentarians from the 32 member states of the North Atlantic Alliance, as well as from associated countries. Since October 2025, the Republic of Moldova has held the status of a comprehensive security partner of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
