Prime Minister Vasile Tofan today visited the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), in order to discuss ways to improve judicial processes.

The government has provided the CSM with two buildings on Vlaicu Parcalab Street, free of charge, to be used as its new headquarters. The premises will meet the institution’s operational requirements, ensure the proper organization of workflows and provide the necessary security measures.

The discussions also addressed such issues as the salary law, the importance and results of the vetting procedure, the optimization of administrative processes to reduce the workload in the courts, particularly in the Courts of Appeal, and the addition of judicial assistants to enhance efficiency.

It should be noted that the salary law provides for increases of between 9 and approximately 12 per cent for the judicial system, while judges’ salary increases will be allocated exclusively to judges who have passed the external evaluation.
