Moldovan PM attends opening of Local Product national exhibition
Over 300 producers from all regions of Moldova on August 28-30 are taking part, in the second edition of the National Exhibition, Local Product, held at Moldexpo. Present at the opening of the event, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan emphasized that supporting entrepreneurs, reducing bureaucracy and creating conditions for business expansion on foreign markets were government’s priorities.
“At the government, we will always be the allies and ambassadors of the entrepreneurs who have the courage and are trying to produce here, at home,” the prime minister underlined. Vasile Tofan urged entrepreneurs to point out to the authorities the regulations and procedures that hinder their activity: “Please be critical of us, tell us how we can simplify your life and which regulations are unnecessary and complicate your work.”
The PM visited the exhibition stands and discussed with producers about their activity, development and export opportunities. In these discussions, Prime Minister Tofan highlighted the need for producers to be able to focus their time and resources on developing their businesses and conquering new markets, rather than on bureaucratic procedures.
“Entrepreneurs must dedicate their energy to conquering new markets, attracting people, designing new products and competing with companies from the European Union and other markets, not to fighting bureaucracy,” Vasile Tofan pointed out.
In the context, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan expressed confidence that the newly appointed ministers today – Minister of Economic Development and Digitization, Claudiu Nasui and Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Eugeniu Osmochescu – will ensure that domestic producers have friendly conditions for developing their businesses. At the same time, the official appreciated the contribution of Moldova’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry in supporting local entrepreneurs.
The National Exhibition, Local Product, brings together producers from more than 15 branches of the national economy and, over three days, provides a platform for promoting products manufactured in Moldova, establishing new trade relations and identifying export opportunities.
The schedule includes business meetings between producers, distributors and potential partners, tastings and demonstrations, the National Pie Festival, the Top Wineries 2026 Gala, as well as the presentation of two national records – the largest woven carpet in Moldova and the largest sour cherry pie.
