Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has visited the Alunelul kindergarten in the commune of Rublenita, during his working visit to Soroca district. The early education institution was renovated and made more energy efficient last year through the European Village Programme, with the Government’s investment amounting to over 4.8 million lei.

The renovation works included current interior repairs, thermal insulation of the building’s walls, modernization of the internal and external engineering networks, as well as the arrangement of the adjacent territory. This is the first major renovation of the kindergarten building, which was constructed in the 1960s. The beneficiaries of the upgraded infrastructure are approximately 100 children and 28 employees of the institution.

“I am happy to see that today this is a preschool institution that provides children with safe conditions for growth and spaces adapted for learning and play. A modern, safe and energy-efficient kindergarten is a European standard that we are building step by step across the country,” emphasized Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.

At the same time, the PM discussed with the children their favorite activities and stories and offered them a box of books collected as part of the Library from Under the Christmas Tree campaign. Munteanu noted that “the love for reading is cultivated from the very first years of life.”

In the last four years, the government has invested over two billion lei in equipping educational institutions. With the financial support of the cabinet, 265 schools and kindergartens have been modernized. In addition, to support young families, more than 40 nursery groups have been created and renovated.
