Process of issuance of civil liability insurance policies for car owners to be digitized in Moldova

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - The insurance contract between the owner of the car and the insurer of civil liability for car owners will be able to be concluded in electronic format, without the use of the electronic signature. The contract will be regarded as signed when the car owner pays the insurance premium, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    
The cabinet today approved a string of amendments to the law on the civil liability insurance for damages inflicted by vehicles, the Contravention Code of Moldova and the law on the prevention and combating of the money laundering and financing terrorism. 
The amendments to the Contravention Code refer to the increase in the contravention fine imposed for the driving vehicles without the holding of the civil liability insurance policy for car owners on paper or in electronic format or in the lack of the data in the single information system related to the civil liability insurance for car owners. The fine will be from 30 to 60 conventional units.
At the same time, the amendments to the law on the prevention and combating of money laundering and financing terrorism sees the omitting of the enforcement of caution measures as to the clients who ask for the issuance of the civil liability insurance policy for car owners for damages inflicted by vehicles.   
The parliament considered the drafts in the first reading and is to examine it in the second reading.
