
Moldovan President to visit Italian Republic
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu will pay a working visit to the Italian Republic and the Holy See on 10-12 September 2025.
In Rome, the head of state will meet with President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni to discuss the deepening of bilateral relations, Italy's support for our country's European path, the expansion of economic cooperation and support for the Moldovan community in Italy. She will also meet with President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa.
At the Holy See, Maia Sandu will be received in audience by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. The discussion will offer an opportunity to exchange views on promoting peace, solidarity, and Christian values in a world marked by challenges. Additionally, the head of state will meet with Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin.
Maia Sandu's visit to Italy and the Holy See is part of Moldova's efforts to strengthen external partnerships, ensure peace in the country and contribute to regional and European security.
