Moldovan Central Electoral Commission accredits over 400 observers for parliamentary elections

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC), at a today's meeting, approved the accreditation of over 400 national and international observers for monitoring the parliamentary elections.

Thus, 387 national observers were accredited, including: 297 from the Civic Association, Union of Jurists of Moldova; 74 from the Civic Association Promo-LEX; 16 from the Civic Association, INFONET Alliance.

At the same time, CEC gave status of international observer to 29 individuals, representing: International Republican Institute Washington – Chisinau branch (eight people); International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) (seven people); French Embassy in Moldova (eight people); Japanese Embassy in  Moldova (six people).

Also, the Commission rejected a complaint submitted by the Political Party, Our Party, regarding the revocation of a member of the electoral bureau in Drochia. CEC noted that the legislation provides the electoral bureau of the polling station with the competence to assess the actions of its members, and the concerned person had already been withdrawn by the electoral subject that appointed him.

At the same meeting, CEC confirmed the person responsible for finances (treasurer) on behalf of the Dignity and Truth Platform Political Party  and approved the addition of a position to the Soroca constituency electoral council.
