Fuel imports through the Giurgiulești Free International Port increased significantly on 12 March, totalling 219 tons of gasoline and 2,083 tons of diesel, the Ministry of Energy announced today.
At the same time, 865 tons of gasoline and 1,560 tons of diesel entered the country through the land customs points of Leușeni and Ungheni (rail).
Under these conditions, fuel stocks amounted to 22 days of consumption for gasoline, 11 days for diesel, and 12 days for LPG.
The Ministry of Energy assured that gasoline and diesel imports continue under normal conditions, and the institution is closely monitoring the situation on the petroleum products market and, together with the competent authorities, is ready to intervene to ensure consumers have the necessary fuels.
On March 4, the Government declared a state of alert in the energy sector for a period of 60 days in connection with the external situation. According to the authorities, the measure is preventive in nature and aims to protect domestic consumption and maintain the stability of the energy system.
