Foreign Ministry: 28 Moldovan citizens requested consular assistance in Middle East

The crisis cell of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to monitor security developments in the Middle East through the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova. According to available information, so far 28 Moldovan citizens have submitted active requests for consular assistance in the region, and the authorities report no casualties or injured persons.

According to the MFA, the embassies of the Republic of Moldova in the region are maintaining direct contact with citizens and are providing assistance in line with the requests received.

In the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, 13 active evacuation requests have been registered; however, the citizens currently do not wish to leave these territories. Public services are functioning normally, and commercial flights are operating on a limited basis.

In the State of Qatar, 15 requests for consular assistance have been registered, two of which concern citizens located in Kuwait. Another 19 cases have been resolved, including with the support of the Romanian and Polish embassies or through citizens’ own travel arrangements.

In the State of Israel, the situation remains tense, with the state of emergency extended until 23 March 2026, while the current restrictions are in force until 14 March 2026. In the Republic of Turkey, the authorities have not announced additional measures that would affect air transport or travel.

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Baku is monitoring developments and remains in contact with Moldovan citizens located in the states for which it is concurrently accredited.

Citizens of the Republic of Moldova are urged to consult the official pages of the diplomatic missions for updated information and to contact the embassies if needed.
