Vehicles with neutral registration numbers from Transnistrian region allowed to international traffic starting from 9 October
Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/ - The transports means with neutral registration numbers from Moldova’s Transnistrian region are allowed to the international road traffic starting from today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The registration plates started being released at offices of the Public Services Agency from Tiraspol and Rabnita on 10 September 2018. The numbers contain three letters and three figures. Once getting them, the cars’ owners also receive a technical passport and the sticker with the symbol MD is applied on the vehicle.
To cross the state border, the drivers must present the transport means’ registration certificate, driver’s licence, Green Card, report on periodical technical inspection, the act confirming the vehicle’s transmission for use, as well as other acts necessary for travels abroad, in line with the requirements of destination countries.
On the last period, more progress with impact on the citizens from the region has been made in the Transnistrian file: recognition of the graduation diplomas issued by the education institutions from the left bank of Dniester; ensuring farmers’ access to their farmlands from the Dubasari district; allowing vehicles from the Transnistrian region to the international traffic. The government has also earmarked 15 million lei for schools, kindergartens, community centres and aqueducts from the security zone.
„With concrete steps which bring benefits to citizens, we will manage to get closer the two banks of Dniester. Our actions are aimed, first of all, at improving the living standards of our country’s citizens. And we will continue doing this. This means reintegration,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip said.
