Bulgaria reconfirms support for European path of Moldova

The strengthening of relations between Moldova and Bulgaria, as well as support for Chișinău’s European path have been discussed during a telephone conversation between the Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Velislava Petrova-Chamova.

The Moldovan official congratulated the Bulgarian diplomacy head on taking office and wished her success in her work.

During the discussion, the two ministers addressed prospects for deepening the Moldovan-Bulgarian cooperation in areas of common interest. At the same time, the Moldovan diplomacy head expressed appreciation for the support provided by Bulgaria to Moldova, including the backing for the European integration process.

Another topic discussed concerned the Bulgarian community of Moldova. According to the foreign affairs minister, this community plays an important role in strengthening the relations between the two states.

Moldova established the diplomatic relations with Bulgaria on February 5, 1992.
