CEC approved final results of 28 September parliamentary elections
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) approved at today's public session the final results of the parliamentary elections held on September 28, 2025, confirming the allocation of mandates among electoral competitors who passed the electoral threshold.
According to the CEC decision, the composition of the new Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will be as follows: Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) – 55 seats; Patriotic Electoral Bloc of Socialists and Communists – 26 seats; Alternative Electoral Bloc – 8 seats; Our Party – 6 seats; Democracy at Home Party – 6 seats.
Thus, PAS remains the main political actor in the future legislative body, holding the simple majority needed to form the Government, while the Patriotic Bloc becomes the main opposition force. The other formations that passed the electoral threshold will have a reduced but significant presence for the political balance of the new Parliament.
CEC head Angela Caraman said that the electoral process was conducted in accordance with national legislation and international standards, and the validation of the results confirms the integrity and transparency of the election.
“The September 28 elections were monitored by national and international observers, who appreciated the good organization of the electoral process. CEC ensured all conditions for citizens to exercise their right to vote freely and consciously”, said the CEC head.
After the approval of the final report and the distribution of mandates, the documents will be sent to the Constitutional Court, which is to confirm the legality of the elections and the validation of the parliamentary mandates.
According to CEC, the voter turnout was 54.7%, and the election was conducted in orderly conditions, without major incidents.
Today's decision marks the official conclusion of the electoral process, with the newly elected Parliament on September 28, 2025, to be convened in its first constitutive session in the immediate future.
