Companies from both banks of Dniester explore Romanian market to identify new opportunities for business expansion

Representatives of eight companies from both banks of the Dniester are taking part in a study visit to Romania on 14–18 September to identify new opportunities for business expansion, learn about market access mechanisms and develop exports.

According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), the visit covers the entire journey of a product to the foreign market – from production, packaging and export preparation to transport, storage, distribution, retail access and interaction with the final consumer. Participants are becoming familiar with quality, labelling, packaging and delivery capacity requirements, as well as with how products and commercial offers can be adapted to the specifics of the Romanian market and, subsequently, to the European Union market.

The first activities took place in Prahova County, where the companies participated in a business meeting organized at the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The program also included bilateral discussions with representatives of the county’s business community, giving the companies the opportunity to establish direct contacts and explore potential areas for commercial cooperation.

During the visit, participants are visiting companies, industrial parks and other locations relevant to production, logistics, distribution and market access. These activities allow them to see firsthand how industrial and logistics infrastructure operates, what solutions are used for transport and storage, and how distribution and product positioning processes are organized.

The study visit complements an extensive training program held previously, which was attended by more than 35 representatives of exporting companies and enterprises at the beginning of their internationalization process.

After the study visit is completed, the project will continue with a new stage. On 28 September 2026, the B2B matchmaking event “New Business Opportunities and Partnerships for SMEs from Both Banks of the Dniester” will take place in Chisinau, aiming to facilitate direct contacts between companies and develop opportunities for commercial cooperation. Registration is open until 24 September 2026.
