Moldovan electoral body registered electoral candidate and rejected two candidate lists for parliamentary elections

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) decided at today's meeting to register an electoral candidate for the parliamentary election on 28 September 2025, and to reject the applications submitted by two political parties.

Thus, 57 candidates from the Political Party Alliance MOLDOVENII were registered for the position of deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the CEC approved the electoral symbol of the party and confirmed the person responsible for finances (treasurer).

Meanwhile, the application of the Political Party For People, Nature and Animals was rejected after the Commission identified irregularities regarding the internal candidate nomination procedure and failure to comply with the conditions set out in Article 68 (3) of Electoral Code no. 325/2022.

Additionally, the list of the Political Party MOLDOVA MARE was also rejected. Upon examination, it was found that one of the candidates falls under the provisions of Aticle 16 (2) letter c) of the Electoral Code. The removal of this candidate led to a reduction in the gender representation quota below the minimum threshold of 40%, resulting in the entire list being declared non-compliant.
