European Union High Representative conveys message on Moldova's Independence Day
The Republic of Moldova has received a congratulatory message from the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas, on the Independence Day. The European official highlighted the importance of the European path that the country had chosen.
“Happy National Day, Moldova. You have shown the world what independence means: the freedom to choose your path and future. Today, the pulse of Europe beats with you—and with your journey towards the EU,” Kallas said.
Her message reaffirms the European Union's support for the democratic and European course of the Republic of Moldova, 34 years after the proclamation of Independence.
The Republic of Moldova is celebrating Independence Day today. In recent years, the European Union has become the main political and economic partner of the Republic of Moldova, supporting reforms and the process of European integration.
