Head of State conveys message on Moldova's Independence Day

The Republic of Moldova today marks the 34th anniversary of the proclamation of its Independence, a significant moment for the history and destiny of the country. On this occasion, the state’s top leadership participated in the flower-laying ceremonies at the Grieving Mother monument at the Eternity Memorial Complex and at the monument to Ruler Stephen the Great and Holy.

In her message, President Maia Sandu emphasized the importance of unity and the responsibility of each individual for the country's future: ‘’Everything you do means Moldova. When you feel safe, Moldova is safe. When you act freely and independently, Moldova is free and independent. When you choose the right path, Moldova is on the right path. Moldova lives through you. Through each hand that works. Through each heart that loves. We are shaping Moldova's path. Happy Independence Day, Moldova!'

The celebrations dedicated to Independence Day continue throughout the day. At 16:50 President Maia Sandu, along with President of France Emmanuel Macron, Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz and Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, will make press statements. Later, after 20:00 they will address the citizens on the Great National Assembly Square.
