
CNA signs agreement with MAI in Romania on preventing and combating corruption
Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES / - The government today approved a decision on starting negotiations on the draft agreement on cooperation between the Moldovan National Anti-Corruption Center /CNA/ and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania in preventing and combating corruption.
Developing of the Agreement draft is determined by further progress of cooperation with MAI dialogue in Romania to prevent and combat corruption, mentions CNA. So far, cooperation with Romanian partners in this area was carried out under the agreement between the governments of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine on cooperation in the fight against crime, signed in 1999.
Negotiations will be conducted by post, given that the document has passed the stage of approval at ministerial and departmental, while the Romanian Government approved the project and gave the MIA mandate for negotiation and signing.
The agreement establishes the scope and manner of cooperation from parties in the exchange operational information for effective investigation of corruption crimes, and those having a direct connection with corruption offenses in accordance with the national legislation of the parties.
"Romania's expertise in preventing and fighting corruption is a solid, recognized regionally, and certainly we have only to gain from such cooperation," said Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
