Head of Moldova's General Police Inspectorate says bridges across Dniester not blocked
The traffic on the bridges across the Dniester River is not blocked by the police, and the messages about bomb alerts in various locations of the Security Zone represent a form of provocation and an attempt to destabilize the situation. The head of the General Police Inspectorate, Viorel Cernauteanu, has made statements to this effect at a show on Jurnal TV.
"During the first half of the day, when we had a massive flow of citizens from the left bank of the Dniester coming to the polling stations, we did not have such alerts or incidents. When the bridges are empty or we no longer have a large flow of voters moving to the right bank of the Dniester at the administrative line crossings, we see a boosting of bomb alerts at the polling stations meant for them," said Cernauteanu.
He noted that it was a form of provocation, and the police must ensure security at polling stations.
At the same time, Cernauteanu did not rule out that bomb alerts might continue tonight and on September 29.
It is worth noting that there were reports in the press that the bridge nearby the village of Sanatauca was blocked by the police following a bomb alert. For the same reason, sappers intervened in more locations in the Security Zone.
