President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu took part today on Dniester Day in Dance of the Nistru Hearths Festival held in the Ștefan Vodă district, an event dedicated to the local traditions and culture along the banks of the Dniester River.
The festival brought together residents and householders from the region, who presented folk music, traditional dances, handicrafts, and dishes specific to the area.
The head of state said that such events help preserve the traditions and shared values of local communities.
“It was a day when music and good cheer resounded on the banks of the Nistru, reminding us how important it is to keep alive the customs and values that bring us together,” Maia Sandu said.
The festival is organized annually as part of the celebration of Dniester Day and aims to promote the cultural heritage and traditions of communities in the localities situated along the river.
Dniester Day is celebrated every year on the last Sunday of May.
