Moldovan ambassador presented credentials to French President

Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the French Republic Lorina Bălteanu presented her credentials to French President Emmanuel Macron during an official ceremony held at Élysée Palace in Paris. The event took place on October 5, 2026, and marked the official start of Lorina Bălteanu’s mandate as Moldova’s ambassador to France.

During the ceremony, the ambassador thanked President Emmanuel Macron for France’s support for the Republic of Moldova in its process of joining the European Union.

According to the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in France, Lorina Bălteanu highlighted the high level of political openness between the two countries, constructive dialogue, and the positive dynamics of cooperation in areas of common interest.

France is one of the Republic of Moldova’s European partners in the process of European integration, while bilateral cooperation between the two countries covers several areas.

The presentation of credentials is the official stage through which an ambassador begins their diplomatic mandate in the country to which they are accredited.
