Legal procedures for establishment of new parliament and cabinet of ministers

The results of the parliamentary elections on September 28 are to be validated, and legal procedures involve several steps until the official formation of the new Parliament and Government.

According to the law, the Central Electoral Commission has five days to centralize the votes and prepare the official report. During this period, a vote recount can be requested if there are challenges.

The Commission's report is then sent to the Constitutional Court, which has ten days to validate or annul the elections and the deputies' mandates. The Court's decision must be published in the Official Gazette within a maximum of two days.

After the validation of the results, the country's President convenes the new Parliament in its constitutive session, which must occur within a maximum of 30 days from the elections. During the session, deputies elect the President of the Parliament, vice-presidents, and members of the Standing Bureau, and parliamentary factions are formed within ten days.

Subsequently, the head of state appoints a candidate for the position of prime minister, who has 15 days to present the cabinet list and activity program to the deputies. The Government is voted by the majority of deputies, and within a maximum of 14 days, the president signs the appointment decree, and the ministers are sworn in.
