Members of Prime Minister’s Control Corps resigned

The members of the Prime Minister’s Control Corps have resigned. The announcement was made at the beginning of today’s Government meeting by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.

"I would also like to refer to the activity of the Prime Minister’s Control Corps. This structure has the mission of verifying compliance with legality, integrity and good governance in state institutions. Precisely for this reason, the standards of professionalism, institutional loyalty and integrity must be higher here than anywhere else. Following the evaluations and information analyzed in recent times, I have come to the conclusion that the activity of the current composition of the Control Corps no longer enjoys the necessary trust to perform this function. I announce to you that the members of the Control Corps effectively submitted their resignations this morning. Public positions are not a privilege; they entail responsibility. And when the necessary trust to exercise a function is lost, the correct decision is to make changes. And that is what we are doing. Because we are talking about professionalism and integrity, the foundation of our activities, and I have zero tolerance for any failure to uphold these principles," said Munteanu.

The Prime Minister’s Control Corps is a subdivision within the State Chancellery of the Republic of Moldova, made up of the prime minister’s advisers. This structure is responsible for monitoring and assessing how government institutions implement legislation, Government decisions and the prime minister’s directives.
