
Moldovan electoral body warns more electoral contenders over obligation to submit report on electoral campaign's financing
Chisinau, 18 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today took note of the reports on the financing of the electoral campaign for the 11 July 2021 snap parliamentary elections.
The central electoral authority on 4 June received information on the reports presented in a three-day term after the opening of the account titled, Electoral Fund, of the following electoral contenders: the Electoral Bloc of Communists and Socialists, Political Party Joint Action Party – Civic Congress, Electoral Bloc RENATO USATII; Political Party Action and Solidarity Party; Shor Political Party; Democratic Party of Moldova, Political Party Dignity and Truth Platform, Democracy at Home Political Party and the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova Political Party.
From the reports submitted, CEC found out that the Shor Political Party, Democratic Party of Moldova, Political Party Dignity and Truth Platform, Electoral Bloc RENATO USATII and Political Party Action and Solidarity Party collected donations from private people, both with incomes got in Moldova and with incomes from abroad and their size does not exceed the ceiling established by the electoral legislation.
As for donations received from legal entities, the Commission ascertained that the Political Party Joint Action Party – Civic Congress and Political Party Action and Solidarity Party benefited from such donations and the ceiling set was observed.
After considering the repots, CEC warned the electoral contenders about their obligation to complete and submit the report on the financing of the electoral campaign in accordance with the provisions from the law and the regulation ones and obliged the electoral contenders: Electoral Bloc RENATO USATII, Political Party Action and Solidarity Party, Political Party Dignity and Truth Platform, Political Party Joint Action Party – Civic Congress to present, in a three-day period, the absent information and/or the corrected report, according to the findings made.
At the same time, CEC obliged the NOI (WE) Political Party to submit, in 24 hours, information on the non-collection of incomes and non-carrying out of expenses for the situation from 4 June 2021 or about the fact that it would not open an account titled, Electoral Fund, at the bank.
CEC found out that the Democracy at Home Political Party had exceeded the ceiling of the donations provided for by the legislation. In the context, the Commission obliged this electoral contender to transfer to the state budget the equivalent value of the donations received over the ceiling in 24 hours.
